It Seems Like a Simple Goal: "Powder Day! Let's go ski!"
Have you ever been skiing with a big group and overnight the conditions changed - you look outside in the morning and it is snowing hard and you check Powcam and it shows more than a foot fresh powder? Seems like a simple goal - ski the steeps and get some sweet powder runs in.
At first you think it will be just like yesterday but better! How hard can it be to get your group to the base area and on the lifts - just like yesterday?
But then you start to realize there might be more logistics involved than you previously thought… Two guys want to demo powder skis, one person has a conference call at 9:00am and wants to meet the group at 10:15am. You realize since it is a "powder day" the crowd of skiers will be larger, and lift lines longer, and the extreme terrain will not be open in the morning since ski patrol will be doing avalanche control...
You are the leader of your group and your group is made up of intermediate and expert skiers. Where should you go ski so you can accommodate everyone? What will be open, where will there be bumps and powder adjacent to groomed runs? Where is the best area? You learn that all the private instructors are booked. Someone checked social media and it said "Northface lift may open at 10:00am, Highlift maybe at 11:00am... and you expect there will be a big line at East River lift early. Should you go there first? How should you get there? Where will the group meet for lunch - what time...? One of your skiers said: "There are no friends on powder days..." go solo and get what you can while it is good... If you had clear information your decisions would be easier...
Similarly, It seems like a simple Goal: "Let's consider Buying or Selling a property in Crested Butte..."
